Chili Cornbread Skillet: A Cozy Classic

Cornbread and chili are a match made in comfort food heaven. This one-skillet dish is warm, hearty, and perfect for sharing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (7.5 oz.) can National Coney Island Chili

  • 1 box (8.5 oz.) cornbread mix (Jiffy or similar)

  • 1 egg

  • ⅓ cup milk

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ¼ cup diced jalapeños (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Prepare cornbread batter by mixing cornbread mix, egg, and milk in a bowl.

  3. Grease a cast iron skillet or oven-safe pan and pour in the cornbread batter.

  4. Spoon National Coney Island Chili over the top (it will sink slightly into the batter).

  5. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and jalapeños.

  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until cornbread is golden and cooked through.

  7. Let cool slightly, then serve warm!
