National Coney Island is very proud of its steadfast commitment to give back to all of the local communities in which we operate our stores – and even areas where we have no physical presence. We have a long standing record of community goodwill and for over 40 years have supported hundreds of local charities, schools, athletic teams, churches, and other organizations, clubs, and individuals. Aside from our annual golf outing that raises thousands of dollars each year for a wide variety of charities, some of our proudest support has included:

  • Wigs 4 Kids, a group that raises money to purchase wigs for kids who are in the midst of battling cancer and other diseases that result in hair loss.
  • Karmanos Cancer Institute, a local cancer foundation that National Coney Island contributed $10,000 towards through it’s fund raising golf outing.
  • Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, through which National has contributed thousands of dollars worth of product and services to help several honorable fund-raising efforts.
  • St. John Hospital Men’s Guild, which hosts a dinner each Spring and donates proceeds to purchase research, equipment, or supplies for St. John Hospital.
  • Food contributions to many local police, fire, & rescue teams.
  • Take a Lion to School, a promotion in which a young child is awarded an opportunity to bring a Detroit Lion football player to their classroom, and is then given tickets to a Detroit Lions football game.
  • Metro Detroit Youth Day, a picnic at Belle Isle for many Detroit youths, of which National has been a strong supporter for many years.
